A sculptural black wool felt hat with a bold, high-coned crown and a generously dramatic brim. A precise band of sharp white and black feather accents rings the base of the crown, while a sheer black crinoline veil spills from the brim, lending movement and a halo of mystery to the silhouette. Exaggerated proportions and dark, romantic contrasts strike a powerful balance between avant-garde couture and gothic theatre. Hand-made in our London atelier by Merve Bayindir Millinery, a member of the British Fashion Council, Ava is finished to a couture standard, a piece made for standing still and stealing the room without a word.

Event: Art galas, editorial race day moments, high-fashion events, Melbourne Cup, avant-garde weddings, and dramatic evening occasions.

Styling: Pare everything else back. A minimalist black column dress, a tailored jumpsuit or wide-leg trousers with a fluid silk blouse all give Ava the long, clean canvas the piece demands. Wear hair low and clean at the nape or in a slick side part so the veil falls without interruption. Skip the layered jewellery entirely, attitude is the only accessory required, and let the hat carry the whole conversation.
