A white wide-brim hat on an asymmetric sinamay base, worked in fine A-Grade sinamay with a gracefully sweeping brim. A black burnt ostrich feather arcs across the front, half falling over the brim and half swinging up across the top, its airy fronds giving the piece movement against the clean white. Hand-made in our London atelier by Merve Bayindir Millinery, a member of the British Fashion Council, Kaui is finished to a couture standard, the ostrich feather hand-burnt by eye so its texture and dark edge stand against the white brim.

Event: Royal Ascot and the Royal Enclosure, the Kentucky Derby, mother of the bride, weddings and high-fashion events.

Styling: Wear it level or tilted slightly forward so the brim sweeps across the face and the feather leads from the front. Pair with sharp tailoring or a clean dress in white, black or monochrome to follow the contrast, keeping the outfit simple under the wide brim. Sweep hair back or off the face, and finish with fine drop earrings.
